Brew & Review: Key Takeaways from Coffee with the ED

A big thank you to everyone who joined us last Wednesday for Coffee with the Executive Director. We loved having the opportunity to connect with our Tarbox & Brown partners — Ryan, Brooke, and David — and we truly appreciate the time they spent sharing updates with our community.

Here’s what’s brewing from our conversation:

Train Horns

The City of San Marcos anticipates that quiet zones — including the Centerpoint Rd crossing — will be reinstated by the end of August. A revised Notice of Establishment has been submitted to the Federal Railroad Administration and Union Pacific for final approval. Once approved, the original quiet zone from 2015 will be back in effect. For the latest updates, visit sanmarcos.gov/quietzones.

Safety at Laughing Pear & Flying Orchid

Signage will be placed at both stop signs on Laughing Pear to remind drivers that cross traffic does not stop. This is to raise awareness and encourage safer driving at this intersection.

Trotting Bear Natural Area

More cleanup is planned. Thank you for giving our landscape team the space to get it done!

Fitness Center TVs

All TVs are now in working order. Thanks for your patience while we tackled that glitch.

Tree Work

Scheduled for Dancing Oak and Playing Cypress. Trees marked with orange tape are scheduled for removal, but only if they are dead or pose an immediate safety hazard. No live vegetation is being removed.

Chilled Water Station

Don’t forget, we now have a chilled water dispenser at the Comfort Station behind the new pickleball courts. Bring your reusable bottle to help reduce disposable plastics on the courts!

Thanks again for coming out to chat, share ideas, and keep Kissing Tree thriving. We’ll see you at the next one!
