FreeTrail Hiking on Friday, November 22 – CANYON GORGE OVERLOOK TRAIL & GUADALUPE RIVER ACCESS TRAIL
May be staying to have lunch at Granny D’s
All residents welcome. Meet at the Mix parking lot at 7:45 am to carpool to trailhead.
Wear proper hiking shoes or dependable athletic shoes. Bring water bottle.
Walking sticks are also encouraged.
Approx. 2-3 mile hike with rocky terrain and some challenging hills.
Rating – Moderately Strenuous: Wild and rugged terrain, amenities limited, slick trails when wet
CANYON GORGE OVERLOOK TRAIL ($5 pp fee) – Try this 1.3-mile out-and-back trail near Canyon Lake, Texas. Generally considered an easy route, it takes an average of 28 min to complete. This trail is great for hiking and walking, and it’s unlikely you’ll encounter many other people while exploring. The best times to visit this trail are October through October. You’ll need to leave pups at home — dogs aren’t allowed on this trail.
GUADALUPE RIVER ACCESS TRAIL – Explore this 1.8-mile out-and-back trail near Canyon Lake, Texas. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 38 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and running, so you’ll likely encounter other people while exploring.
