DESCRIPTION:Martha Joyce\, Director for the Central Texas Dispute Resolution Center will present on how you can get involved in the community. The Central Texas Dispute Resolution Center is a 501(C) (3) non-profit organization providing mediation services and training to the underserved and unserved in Hays\, Comal\, Guadalupe\, and Caldwell Counties. \nThe Central Texas DRC offers its services to over half a million people in its service and ancillary areas. \nThe under-served are comprised of those who fall below a certain income level and the unserved are areas where mediators are not available either due to the particular area\, for example student/landlord disputes. \nDRC offers 40-hour Basic Mediation Training\, 30-hour Family Mediation Training\, and CPS Mediation Training. \nFAQs \nFor More Information\nMartha Joyce\, Director \nCentral Texas Dispute Resolution Center \n(512) 878-0382 \nmjoyce@centexdrc.org

DESCRIPTION:Civilian Response to Active Shooter Event\nMonday\, June 22nd from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm\nZito Wealth & Wellness Activity room at Independence Hall \nActive shooter tragedies continue to occur across the nation\, often hitting close to home like in Austin on March 1st. Join us for a presentation on what you can do if ever confronted with one of these violent events\, or other life-threatening critical incidents. The Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) presentation is designed to provide you with an overall awareness of what to expect during a critical incident and specific actions you can take to increase survivability. \nClick here to register \nTerry Nichols is a retired Chief of Police having served more than 33 years in law enforcement in Texas\, 21 of those with the San Marcos Police Department. He is a published author on the active shooter threat and is a nationally recognized subject matter expert on active shooter events and training. Terry frequently speaks at conferences and instructs first responders across the nation on active shooter response tactics. Terry and his wife Nicky moved to KT in December of 2024.
