KTVC Board owner director candidate
Pamela Monday
10 months.
I want to be actively involved in knowing what the board is doing for our community, and to advocate for the interests of people and property in the Villas.
I have served several terms on business condominium and homestead boards for the last 35 years. I have a home in a subdivision in south Austin, and have served several 3 year terms on that HOA board. I am an advocate for residents to ensure that they receive all amenities and services provided in the governing documents, and that repairs and stated inspections are completed efficiently and on time so that property values do not deteriorate from neglect. I advocate both for resident rights as well as helping residents understand responsibilities as stated in the CRRS, as oftentimes there is confusion that needs to be clarified.
I have a Master’s degree (University of Houston) and a Ph.D. degree (University of Texas), with specialties in counseling psychology and organizational consultation. I have been a licensed marriage and family therapist for 50 years. I specialize in teaching communication skills and respectful listening and dialogue to individuals, couples and multi-generational family systems. I also consult with businesses to improve relationships between executives and their employees. I have worked in settings that include hospitals, school systems, business organizations and in private practice.
I was Director of Supervision with the Austin Family Institute in Austin, and trained new and established clinicians and supervisors for many years. I have had a private practice for several decades, and have presented workshops at local, state, and national levels, and have served on several professional boards, including international ones. I have co-authored one book, and am working on a second. I know how to help people work collaboratively and respectfully to efficiently accomplish mutual goals. I was an Ambassador for the Westlake Chamber of Commerce for several years.
HOA board positions including secretary, vice president, and president; served on governing boards for local, state, national and international professional organizations; supervisor and trainer for both business, educational and therapist organizations; active leader in Westlake Chamber of Commerce; wrote and presented research to the Texas legislature as part of a Senate Committee investigating the delivery of human services in Texas.
Problems with inadequate, unsightly, or dangerous landscaping issues, as well as weed control in common areas and dying grass and trees that have not been adequately or quickly addressed. I hope that Agave Landscaping will effectively and efficiently eliminate those problems without excessive time delays once reported by homeowners.
